Resistance to assessment is a persistent challenge at many campuses. At CSUF, a large regional comprehensive university, we addressed this challenge by transferring the ownership of assessment to faculty. By promoting a faculty-driven approach to assessment, we have observed preliminary success toward establishing a campus-wide assessment culture. Guest Presenter: Dr. Su SwaratDr. Su Swarat currently serves as the Director of Assessment & Educational Effectiveness at California State University, Fullerton. She leads an institution-wide program to assess curriculum effectiveness and conducts research on student learning. Su also works to promote a culture of assessment while facilitating and supporting the development of assessment activities on campus. She received her PhD in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University. She also holds a Master's degree from Purdue University, and a Bachelor's degree from Peking University, both in areas of Biology.
